The purpose of this workshop is to examine common challenges academic and practice educators encounter while guiding learners along the path to practice readiness. Participants will strengthen evidence-based skills necessary to reframe challenges into powerful learning opportunities that promote durable learning and clinical judgement.
Program objectives:
- Analyze the academic and practice landscapes that present challenges to supporting learners in acquiring the knowledge, skills and abilities for practice readiness.
- Explore educational values and beliefs that create a learning environment that enables educators and learners to lean into the vulnerability required for reframing challenges into opportunities.
- Generate brain science-based teaching strategies that leverage opportunities to help learners develop clinical judgement and promote durable learning.
- Create a plan that defines short and long-term goals, using science-based teaching strategies, that guide learners along the path toward practice readiness.
*Since the conference speakers will be expanding on the topic of metacognition, presented at the NELNE Spring 2025 Conference, all registered attendees will receive a QR code link to a podcast which will review this information to bridge the gap for those who did not attend in the spring, and for those who would like a recap of this important topic related to student learning.
